At 1200 Hastings Road, the Ukiah Elks Lodge #1728 has been a cornerstone of Mendocino County life for well over a century. The lodge sits on a generous property with a small park, shaded picnic tables, and a brick memorial wall honoring those who served, a quiet reminder that this organization was built on something bigger than itself. Members and guests consistently rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars, and the word that comes up again and again in reviews is the same one: friendly.

The lodge hosts community events, charitable fundraisers, and member gatherings throughout the year, keeping the Elks' founding mission of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity alive in a very practical, Ukiah-specific way. The grounds are well-maintained and genuinely peaceful, a rarity in a world that rarely slows down.

If you haven't stepped through the doors yet, you're missing one of Ukiah's best-kept secrets. The people here make it, and that's not something you can manufacture.

What We Offer

Ukiah Elks Lodge #1728 offers far more than a meeting hall. The lodge provides a welcoming social venue for members, a site for community events and charitable programs, and one of the most talked-about RV overnight stops in Northern California wine country.

Traveling Elks members can call ahead to arrange a quiet overnight RV stay on the lodge grounds. The spot is shaded, calm, and a genuine respite from highway driving. Clean restrooms are available on-site, and the small park area with picnic tables makes it easy to stretch your legs and enjoy the Ukiah evening air. Payment is handled simply through a donation box near the brick memorial wall.

Beyond the RV amenity, the lodge regularly opens its grounds for events, gatherings, and community functions. Whether you're a lifelong Elk or a first-time visitor to the area, the Ukiah chapter makes it easy to feel at home.

"What a great hidden gem. Being a member of the Elks and passing through town I called and inquired if they had a spot I could stay overnight with my RV. They were so nice on the phone and said that they did in fact have an RV type park at their lodge. Well when I showed up I have to say I was surprised. It was so nicely done. There is 30 amp power and water hook up for $25 a night. There is a dump station also for fee, but I did not use. There is a dog park and a children’s park and nicely shaded trees with a beautiful walking area. This was such a surprise to come into for just wanting a place to rest my head overnight. If we didn’t have reservations in Redwood national park, I would actually consider staying a little longer just to relax and enjoy the place. They really did a great job here! And everyone was super nice."

"Unfortunately the lodge was not open on the day we arrived. The RV rest area is quite nice. The restrooms are very basic old style but functional. Great park at the back for events."

"There is nothing more frustrating than missing information. This is a private RV park. They don't say that anywhere. I filled out the registration card and put it in the the envelope along with $150 cash into the drop box. I get all settled in and knock knock on my door is a lady in a wheel chair telling me I can't camp there. Now I'm having to camp out in the Walmart parking lot to wait for the office to open to get my money back. You people need to put a sign stating that this is a private membership only RV park that you can't become a member of unless you believe in God."
